Iran documentary ‘Lotus’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 21st edition of Cervino Cinemountain International Film Festival in Italy.
The flick is to represent Iran at the Italian film event.
Directed by Mohammad-Reza Vatandoust, the documentary narrates the story of an old woman who has been waiting for 12 years to get a permit to enter an island. She wants to see the only resident who lives there.
The documentary has so far succeeded to attend the National competition section and the Shahid Avini Award Competition section of the 11th Iran International Documentary Film Festival of Cinema Verite.
The Festival, originally known as Cervino International Film Festival, was created in 1998 at Breuil-Cervinia, at the bottom of Mount Cervino. Its original aim was to select and reward films that had already been awarded by others festivals.
The 2018 edition of the event is slated for August 3-12.
